Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes
Brigadoon Vacation Rentals: Frequently Asked Questions
What time is check-in and Check-out?
Check-in is @ 4pm and Check-out is by 11 am.
How do I make a reservation?
All reservations are secured either by calling our office and speaking with one of our friendly booking agents regarding the home and dates with which you would like to stay or entering a booking request online directly from a property page. If you place a booking request online, your credit card is PENDING until we confirm your reservation. We will contact you regarding confirmation or denial of reservation within 24 hours of your on-line booking request. Confirmation will depend on the availability of the home, cleaning schedule and the individual home's parameters/restrictions.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover credit cards only.
What is your minimum stay?
We require at least 2 consecutive night rentals, however during the peak times, we may require a 3 night minimum. During holidays and local festivals the minimum reservation is 3 or 4 nights, depending on the holiday, how it falls on the calendar year, and the specific home. Our holidays include (unless otherwise specified by house): New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Juan de Fuca Arts Festival, 4th of July, Lavender Festival, Labor Day, Dungeness Crab Festival, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's.
How do we check-in?
Check-in is at 4pm. Check in instructions will be emailed to you the week of your arrival. Direct check in at a property is only available at some of our homes. We ask that you keep us informed of your travel arrangements and estimated time of arrival, especially if you will be arriving after 5pm.
Will we have cell phone coverage?
On the Peninsula, coverage depends on your carrier as to the range of service you may experience. Along the coast, in rural areas, and in the mountains, coverage can often be spotty.
Do children count towards a home’s maximum occupancy?
Yes, however, children under the age of 2 years old do not count toward the home’s maximum occupancy.
Do you allow pets?
We do have a few homes that are pet friendly. Size and number of pets are reviewed case by case. We do have a pet policy we require you to agree to. We have a Pet Friendly Homes category on our website for guests.
Can we have a wedding, reception or throw a party in a Brigadoon home?
We are very happy for you and congratulate you on your wedding, anniversary, birthday or other special occasion! We too love a great party, however we do not allow events or parties of any type in any of our homes. We recommend several venues on our website for weddings or other special occasions. We would, however, be very happy to assist you in finding housing arrangements for out of town guests, your wedding party and/or your family reunion guests.
What items are provided in the home?
Upon arrival our rentals are stocked with some basic “starter” products, which include toilet paper, paper towels, tissue, trash bags, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, hand soap, and some basic spices like salt and pepper, cooking oil/spray. If you use what we start you with, you will need to provide your own for the remainder of your stay (large groups of guests or guests with longer stays should plan to bring additional supplies as you see fit). Each home also will have basic kitchen utensils, pots and pans, coffeepot, bath towels (not for use at the beach), bed linens, blankets/quilts, pillows, garbage containers, and a hair dryer.
Why are the cleaning fees different in each of your homes?
We hire superior independent cleaning contractors to service our homes. The rate of each home is dependent on the home’s size and how long it typically takes for the cleaner to clean, santitize and prepare the home for the next guest. Can you clean the home yourself? No, we are sorry, we pay and supervise our cleaners well and they take a personal interest in caring for our homes and ensuring that the homes are restocked, cleaned and santitized thoroughly for each and every guest.
Are Fireworks allowed at any of your homes?
No. Fireworks are strictly prohibited at all of our homes due to fire concerns and neighborhood domestic livestock as well as our protected Elk herds. Public firework displays can be seen over the Marina in downtown Port Angeles and in Forks.
